Bryophyta

February 2021

Bryophyta is an apparatus which uses the specific metabolism of mosses in order to regulate climate conditions and air quality in interior spaces. The high surface area as well as the specific metabolism of mosses have the property of filtering pollutants and fine particles from the air, increase the air humidity level in dry spaces as well as stabilizing the climate conditions. An integrated humidity sensor ensures that the organism has the ideal conditions to strive while the convoluted morphology of the 3D printed apparatus creates crevasses, comparable to cracks on a rock surface, computed and designed according to the type of moss used in the apparatus.
